Illuminate is the world's largest conscious cinema festival, and the "Hare Krishna!" movie was one of the 10 films competing for the top prize this year. Jury Chairman Michael Kineret said they awarded the film, which, in their opinion, had the potential to "reach the widest audience and have the greatest impact".
"Hare Krishna!" is a documentary film about the life of Srila Prabhupada, a 70-year-old Indian Swami who arrived in America without support or money in the 1960s. Immersed in the turbulent counterculture of those times, he speaks about the most essential thing in this world - a revolution in consciousness.
